Are we ready for "Recall" provision?

Sri Somnath Chatarji, Lok Sabha Speaker, recently suggested that it is
time for us to consider amending our Constitution to provide for
"Recall" of elected representatives at all levels in our governments.

While this provision is available in some democracies, not all
democracies have such a provision. In theory, this is a powerful and
self correcting provision. However, there are only a handful of
successful cases where this has been used in US and other countries in
recent years.

Are we ready for such a provision? Will it lead to more
confusion/anarchy? What should be the bounds and minimum requirements
for such a step to work effectively? What are the alternatives for such
a provision if any?
