Re: Who are " Useless fellows??" Leaders?? Media??

This is my take on this or any similar incidents. Let us keep cool and see what might have happened... This is our only option as we do not know "what exactly happened".

By reporting this incident Vaartha did its job. We can only say this if they reported "as-is" without adding any special connotations. Given the track record of Vaartha it may give rise to such a qualifier in the first place.

By not reporting this incident, Andhra Jyothy and Eenadu fell behind. I would not say that they hid anything. This story may well be in their editorial parlours.

Everyone who works as a Journalist, does have the right to have his/her personal affiliation to a party or philosophy. However, as professionals, we expect them to be factual.

Now, let us get back to the actual incident. I am willing to take the article on its face for this discussion's sake.

• After 4 hours of Dharna, when TDP leaders went to see the collector to give the memorandum, Collector should have received them with grace.
• While "Praja Durbar" is an important reponsibility, the Collector could have set aside some time to address the grievences of TDP leaders.
• I would  argue that he failed to anticipate and plan for the events outside of his office. No matter what the motive was.
  
• It is reported that the Collector was "sitting" when the leaders entered the office with permission. It can easily be construed as "rude" on his part.
  
• My suspicion is, more than anything, this perceived rude behavior could have triggered the whole episode.
• TDP Leaders should not have used the foul language (**IF** in fact they used). We can't condone that.

When President Bush was asked recently about what he would do should he come face to face with President Chavez, Bush said that, he would "act politely". He also opined that, that is what Americans want their president to do more than any thing!

So, the bottom line is, Collector failed in the first place. Which triggered this unfortunate event. Of course, this is not what we expect whether reported or not.
